Bonfire of Vanities

Dimwit,

I dont know, I dont understand - every relationship, every one has value - how can each other not appreciate it is a simple straight forward way. That is basic respect - to each other - to every living things. Appreciating for who we are and they are - not having to mould them into us - to fit us.

Life would be so much better if people recognize difference and leave it alone and not mess with it. but when it comes to relationship of any sort - not necessarily marriage - conflicts arises - then it all boils down to the price one pays - unless both find mutual way to benefit - cut their losses... That is an interesting thought to ponder.

In marriage the couple know the price - who stay in it - compromise, and they value in spite of conflicts - fights - whatever. Mostly they do it - because deep down they do love. Well most relationship are based on dependency, weaknesses, manipulation, domination.

and ye, all divorces are valid - some one's peace of mind is at stake :)

Cheers

Esta,

I meant in real life - would someone like Bruce Willis ever give up on a family he loves and one who loves him back - simply to chase some criminals around?  :)  I'm not talking about divorce in general.  People divorce for so many reasons - all valid and needed.

See compromise actually comes naturally to people - its the non-confrontational easy answer to solutions.  So in actual fact, compromise is a relationship killer in the long run.

If people would just not compromise to begin with, then they would be forced to look for solutions and appreciate each other as is.  And life would be so much better.  :))

Cheers

Bonfire of Vanities

Dimwit,

Seriously, who would actually make that choice in real life? :)

Since you used the word 'seriously' - I had to think about it... well look around all the couples who get divorced - for one reason or the other - they want to be themselves - and they sort of give up on themselves or their partner - the choice that they made - too many out there.

Die Hard is just an example :)

Everybody wants to be their self without any compromise. Some or should I say most find a way to be.

I didnt mean to relate you with Bruce Willis in Die Hard, I just liked the concept of he not able to help being himself - do what he does - no matter what. Obviously he is a psycho and crazy and it was a just a movie

His ‘Liaison’ with an Older Married Woman

Sowmya

Thats an excellent blog - I read somewhere, dont remember where and exact words.

But contrary to the fact that Krishna had way with women, it is actually women fell for Krishna - offered themselves to him - Krishna and Arjuna are supposed to have multiple wives and endless affairs. Probably Krishna was truly in love with Radha ;)

The reasoning was, both were powerful, charming and skilled. Their marriages to the princess were politically motivated and most of the time these men were strategically planning - war or winning.

Of course Krishna is divine - very human characters in Mahabaratha.

I could be so wrong, if I am, it is all the information I have accumulated, which sounds like this to me :))

That was engrossing - the least of all.

For some odd reason - Die Hard 4 movie comes to me - in a scene, Bruce would say, he really doesnt want to do the job, he has lost his wife, kids, and fighting and he would say he would actually would love to quit, be on the side line, if there were someone else to do the job - so he has to do what he has to do.

Well I dont know if it is relevant to your blog...but I really liked the movie and what it represented... loved the spirit of the movie, no one could stop us the way we are. Maybe it is only us who could change ourselves or not.

Bonfire sure sounds - right.

How can a husband and wife be friends?

Harsha

This blog is way too long - so I read about half of it and browsed through the rest. Being a hindu, I respect this: I believe in this:

1. The first step ...............We promise to nourish each other.
2. The second step ..........We promise to grow together.
3. The third step .............We promise to preserve the wealth
4. The fourth step ...........We promise to share the joy and sorrow.
5. The fifth step ...............We promise is to care For the children
6. The sixth step .............We promise to be together for ever.
7. The seventh step... We promise to remain friends lifelong.

- to answer the question How can a husband and wife be friends...take sex out of the equation ;))))

Marriage is an arrangement to get what we want out of life - biological, for society, for growth - to experience life - stability - well some are made to marry some not.

Everyone want relationship - no one want to end up 'alone' - sharing opens up a person - sharing brings joy - peace, happy moments.

Cheers

Brahmin Myths

Brahmin elders practice oppression and double speak on their younger counterparts and YET will be meek and sub-ordinate to their tormentors openly. It can be easily said the Brahmin elders failed their community and are the root cause of fragmentation and lack of unity and sufferings of the community as a whole. BRAHMINS PRACTICE TOLERANCE TO STRONGER PEOPLE WHO HARASS THEM !!! That is why you see from Kashmir to kanyakumari, they are openly harassed.

This is true and not true - but if you generalize and take an average - I would agree to this true 'myth' - I dont know if this qualify for 'reservation' but then it would be nice :)))) Oh yea, next step is to break the cultural barrier - fight is going on - I give in to the stronger one all the time ;)

Cheers

Colourful Expressions

Wiskyd

thats a good one, recently I saw the colors of this season - interior decoration - it was sort of cool...

I had attended a presentation - and it was about colors - our mindsets. We were asked to write down all that which comes to our head - about one particular color - it was interesting how we think - how far, wide, narrow, closed, open - how our brain maps stuff and connects.

Cool one

Teachers are no more role models

Suresh

Teachers technically should be 'guides' to guide and help them learn to live life fully - if idiots become teacher - well what can we expect - and even worse perverts who become 'teachers' - what a shame!

Shoot them :(
